勇於創新别有新意
——潘文复的陶瓷艺术
潘文复设计的彩色玲珑台灯造型呈金瓜花篮瓶式。主体纹饰用粉红、青绿、淡蓝、淡黄等彩色玲
珑组成园花图案；上下边节纹样则施以传统的豆青列花，两者有机地结合，别具特色；加之胎薄质白，在灯光作用下显得五彩缤纷，色泽柔和，秀雅大方，剔透晶莹，是一件艺术和实用性和谐统一的陶瓷佳作。在全国旅游产品内销工艺品展销会上曾引起轰动，并获优秀新产品奖，为景德镇陶瓷增添了新彩。
潘文复是江西波阳县人，生於一九三八年，系陶瓷美术世家潘庸秉之子。自幼受父教诲，又师承陶瓷名家张志汤，专攻粉彩绘书；後以优异成绩考入景德镇陶瓷学院。
潘文复的作品多以色釉综合装饰而著称，自然娇美，融汇了古今中外各种艺术之长，风格深沉浑厚，古朴内涵，富有诗情书意。如他的《金色桂林》高温色釉梅瓶画面，就一扫自古望落叶而叹秋凉的画意，也拼弃了专画桂林山青水秀之春色；而是别有新意地描绘了桂林金色丰收的秋景，表达作者对事业的追求。整个画面布局宏大，层次清晰富有变化，格调轻快自然，亳无雕齿之感。又如他的双层镂空《卓文君》皮灯，综合了镂空，釉下彩工艺，利用镂空的外层，使人朦胧地看到里层的书面故事，含蓄地体现了画意，富有迷人的诗意。
潘文复是勇於创新的陶瓷美术家。他把工艺与绘画巧妙地结合起来，创造出前所未有的新书面。他首先创造性地把颜色釉作为彩料进行装饰绘画，使书面具有色釉的艳丽茔润。他创制的粉红、青绿、豆茶等彩色玲珑，使他的作品富有变化，装饰色彩多样，达到了前人未及的境地。
“潘文復的作品画面气势磅礴、浑厚，既体现材质的自然美，又具有工写瓷画的意趣，装饰内容多以山水和花鸟为主。他有着厚实的传统粉彩瓷画功底，他擅长高温色釉装饰。代表作有：釉里红园盘《山水》、鸡心瓶《山水》、高温颜色釉瓶《仙鹤图》、颜色釉彩绘斛桶瓶《金秋图》等。
作品《山水》瓷盘是用全釉里红的装饰手法绘制而成的，其山水气势磅礴，满而见空。正面大山绿郁葱葱，前面树石红而不艳，整个画面红绿相印，相得益彰。
作品《山水》鸡心瓶是利用豆青釉为底色，乌金釉颜料进行装饰。作者以传统表现技法描绘山、石、树，层次分明；乌金釉熔在豆青釉中使之画面浑厚生动，富有水墨画的趣味。
作品《仙鹤图》意境深远，布局巧妙；利用天、地、水三者连贯一体，并相呼应；淡淡水中的白鹤，加上其倒影更增加了画面的生动趣味，是一幅反映大自然美的艺术品。”
Pan Wenfu, male, was born in September, 1938 in Poyang
County, Jiangxi Province. As a young boy, he learned a trade from his father
Pan Yongbing and his uncle Pan Taoyu. Later he was taught by Mr. Zhang
Zhitang( ceramic artist in Jingdezhen City). He is talent in painting, and
diligent in study and practice. He graduated from the Fine Art Department of
Jingdezhen Ceramic Institute in 1962. From then, he is a senior artist of
arts and crafts on Jingdezhen Art Porcelain Factory. He was granted the
title of "Outstanding Ceramic Artists" by Jingdezhen municipal government in
1978. He is praised "to have written a new chapter of colored glaze
porcelain art" by an article published in the "Guangming Daily".
There is a style of great momentum, simplicity, and vigor in
Mr. Pan Wenfu's works of art. Landscape, flower and bird are the most
subjects of his works. They show both the beauty of the porcelain material
and the charm of the fine brushwork and freehand brushwork ceramic
paintings. He has profound knowledge and skill of traditional soft color
ceramic painting. He is expert at decoration with changeable high
temperature color glaze. Some of his representative works are: "Landscape",
under-glazed red pattern, round dish; "Landscape", heart shape vase; "White
Crane", changeable high temperature color glaze, vase; "Golden Autumn",
color painting with color glaze, cylinder vase.
The round dish "Landscape" was completed with all red
under-glazed decoration. The mountain and water in it are with great
momentum. The picture is full of object images, but in the same time you can
feel there is plenty space. The green mountain occupies most of the picture;
stones and trees in moderate red color were positioned in the front. The red
and green are integrated, mutual promoted each other.
In "Landscape"( heart shape vase), the blue glaze was used as
background, and black shining glaze as decoration. The mountains, rocks, and
trees were depicted in traditional expression technique; they are
well-arranged. The black shining glaze were melted into the blue glaze, this
effect make the picture bright and vivid, rich of artistic mood of wash
painting.
"White Crane" has ingenuous composition and far-stretched
conception. The sky, earth, and water were painted as an organic whole. The
white cranes swimming in water, and their reflection under the water makes
the picture more lifelike. It is an artistic work showing the beauty of
nature.
