Mr.Qin Xilin
is a world-famous ceramic artist. Born on May 15th,1942 in
Nanchang, Mr.Qin graduated from Fine Arts Department in Jingdezhen
Ceramic Institute. He is now President and professor of Jingdezhen
Ceramic, chief editor of Ceramic Journal, member of China Art And
Handicrafts Judging Panel and China Ceramic Art Judging panel,
executive of China Ceramic Industry Association, Vice director of
China Ceramic Fine Arts Design Centre, member of China Silicate
Association and China Fine Arts Association, vice president of
Jingdezhen Painting And Calligraphy Academy.
Mr.Qin has been engaged in the research and creation of
ceramic art for thirty eight years. His works of ceramic art have a
strong sense of modernity and rich color of Oriental art. He
is the winner of many national prizes--altogether nine gold prizes
and first prizes, seven silver prizes and second prizes, seven third
prizes and nine winning prizes. His works were for many times
exhibited in Japan, America, Ganada, France, Belgium, Italy,
Australia, Brazil, Malaysia, Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan, both for
personal show and combined show. Mr. Qin holds the record for the
sale of a single piece of work at the highest price in China. More
than sixty of his works are now collected by the British Museum and
other fine arts and handicrafts museums home and abroad. Some of his
works are chosen as special gifts of the top leaders in China for
foreign presidents.
In recent years, more than forty newspapers and magazines in
Japan, America, Ganda, Singapore, South Korea, Indonesia, Australia,
Hongkong, Macao and Taiwan and over twenty TV stations at home and
abroad have published and reported his artistic creation and highly

For his outstanding achievements, Mr. Qin Xilin was honoured
in 1988 as" The Great Master of Art And Handicraft In China." In
1991, he was granted by the state the title of "Middle-aged Experts
Having Made Outstanding Contribution by China." Mr. Qin Xilin was
consecutively elected as representative of the Seventh and the
Eighth National People's Congress.
