    在浩瀚的藝術天地中，瓷都景德鎮絢麗多彩，群星閃爍，出現了一批才氣横溢、頗有建樹的中青年陶瓷藝術家。范敏祺就是其中的一位代表人物，是瓷都景德鎮頗具影響力和代表性的青年陶瓷藝術家。范敏祺自1989年從原陶瓷職工大學畢業後。一直活躍在神州瓷壇上，專心致志于陶瓷藝術設計創作，并以其對陶瓷藝術的獨特悟性和不懈追求．很快從眾多的青年藝術家脱穎而出，成為他們當中的佼佼者。他有着深厚的藝術功底，大膽的創新理念，執着的藝術追求．勇于探索的精神。他既繼承傳統而又不拘泥于傳統。同時又具備現代藝術創作思路和藝術靈感．創作出了許多精美的陶瓷藝術作品。為瓷都陶瓷藝術的發展作出了他應用的貢獻。

    藝術創造首先需要真誠， 藝術家衹有將自己的生命融入當今社會和自然生活中并真誠地去體驗與感悟。創造的藝術才真正有生命力。范敏祺是國内外有影響的資深陶瓷藝術家、中國工藝美術大師張松茂的得意門生。深得其神髓，勾畫綾條勁健有力，自晝自填，設色濃烈。富麗典雅蒼潤，他承乃師衣鉢而發揚光大，勇于創新。在陶瓷上熟練運用粉彩裝飾手法。將东、西繪畫藝術的精華融入創作中。范敏祺的陶瓷藝術作品大多以古典人物，花鳥、山水為題材，風格典雅别致，意境深邃。細穎靈秀。尤其是他筆下的古裝仕女，綾條流暢，形象生動，神態傳情，充分體現了陶瓷藝術語言表達，珠聯璧合的藝術效果。給人以美的享受和感染。

Preface

    Chinese invented porcelain and Jingdezhen people created Porcelain Capital and in turn the artists produced striking fine arts one after another. All these are attributed to its 1700 years of ceramic manufacture and talented craftsmen contributing to the ceramic development generation by generation. In the new era of today, we are happy to see that a group of remarkable middle aged. and young ceramic artists are active in this field. They, on the basis of excellent tradition of predecessors, demonstrate their talents with their own artistic technique, showing novel vigor, strong verve and new breath.

   In the vast area of art, the porcelain capital of Jingdezhen is glowing with many bright starts of talented artists, among whom is an influential and typical young artist---Mr Fan Mingqi. He has always been active in the field of and devoted himself to the ceramic art design and distinguished  himself from mass young artists ever since his graduation in Jingdezhen Ceramic Professional College in 1989. He has profound artistic skills and free creation ideas, persistent chase and progressing spirits. He succeeds tradition but is not restricted in it, and produced plenty of delicate ceramic works of arts with modern artistic conception and unprecedented art inspiration.

  Art creation calls for sincerity, and therefore only when the artists join themselves into the natural life and society to experience and perceive it can they create vivid art. Fan Mingqi is an appreciated student of Mr. Zhang Shongmao, who is world-renowned state -level senior artist. Fan's works follow the essence of his paintings. He outlines and paints individually, with bold. lines, bright colour and magnificent design. He not only inherits but also expands his master's style creatively. He uses decoration of familie rose skillfully and embodies Chinese painting, decoration painting into his art creation. His ceramic works are dominant with classical figures, landscapes, flowers and birds, with unique styles and profound artistic conception. Particularly his works of women in classical costumes are free in lines with new conception and vivid images ,which fully present the artistic effect of ceramic muscle texture, offering people aesthetics and artistic appeal.

   Fan Mingqi can reveal his wonderful art techniques and strong breath of time "With the combination of traditional techniques and modern ideas, mass lovers for the ceramic art are to be expected to experience his unique artistic glamour. Fan's works of art inherits the tradition but also breaks through the convention, conveying his own feelings and presenting the artistic language and form in aesthetics. So his works of art are full of emotions on time and his designing perspectives. We can feel his enthusiasm of life from his works and the artistic world constructed with his enthusiasm of life. Fan Mingqi is sincere and warmhearted, who spares no effort to promote the ceramic art of Jingdezhen, organize many artistic exchanges, and work for the spread of ceramic culture. Thus he deserves the title of leading artist among the middle-aged and young in Jingdezhen. On this occasion, I wish him to follow the pace of the time continually and step into higher realm so as to make more contribution to the progress and prosperity of global ceramic culture.
