I do not think that the frontier and abstract “modern ceramics" is the unsurpassed ceramic arts, while the classic "traditional ceramics " with the profound culture is inferior to it ,which is considered not appeal to refined taste. In my opinion, we should say that they are just the naturally born' brothers-german', they are the lovely twin flowers in the garden of ceramic arts. Once the traditional ceramics is combined with contemporary thoughts and creative concepts, it will fully display the vitality and beauty of the art life. A “modern ceramics" with Chinese characteristics will stand towering in the world ceramics. This called for by our people, by the world and by the times.
    During my ceramic career and arts exploration of more than 40 years, I have accumulated rich experiences, and I have been attaching importance to the study of academic theories. By absorbing the strong points from the others and being creative by independent thinking, my seen by constantly forsaking the 'long gown' and 'mandarin jacket' in the stereotyped Chinese classic convention, and avoiding the playacting like the 'false foreigner' with tophat and western modern artistic convention, and avoiding the playacting like the 'false foreigner' with tophat and western suit. I will unswervingly go ahead along the road that combines the excellent Chinese tradition, reaching the top of modern ceramics with Chinese characteristics comes true.
    It is not easy for every man to jump out of the deep-rooted tradition, but I will jump. It is common for every man to be drown by the onrushing foreign cultural and artistic tides, but I will stand still. Ordinary people just pay attention to the skillful workmanship but ignore the theoretical advancement, but I will lay stress on both of them. Ordinary people may like to sing their own praises, but I would like to learn from the people in the world.
    Art is part of oneself, it is part of others too. Art belong to the people, it also belongs to the world.
