what's your best, worst, funniest... memories of your college years? women's
vollyball games on TV was a big part of mine.

On Saturday, 5/11/96, the PKU Chem alumni at San Diego, CA had a party with
Profs. Peng Chong-hui and Li Biao-guo. Prof. Peng still remain her elegant
demeanour. The way she talked to us reminds me of the time when we took her
analytical chemistry class. She wants us to extend her greetings to all our
former classmates. She will visit Los Angeles area this week and visit Santa
Barbara, San Francisco. She still remembers many of our classmates. You are
welcome to call her at 619-457-2496. She'll be back to Beida in July. Regards,

There was someone (sorry, I didn't see your name in that posting) proposing
about the best, worst, funnist ... memories of the college days (and years). To
me, it seems every time I see our old pals, the best time we had was to
recollect those funny "Wai-Hao" or nicknames that were widespread
among both the boys and girls. I'm not proposing we publish that (rather, it
could be more fun to keep them discrete), but I really enjoyed and was
tremendouly impressed by the level of wisdom and ingenuity, and energy we had
put into it. They are like the glue that seem to bond us together, the common
language that nobody else knows or understands. And I'm sure each nickname had a
stories or two associated with it. By now, have any of those "wai-hao"
come back to you ? Enjoy !Name & E-mail: Xin Ning, xning@kcc.com

about wai4 hao4, I'm afraid to ask :-)

The controller of my company died of heart attack on his dinner table last
night. It was a shock for all of us. I couldn't believe a person was very much
alive during the day, can suddenly drop dead just like that. It also made me
realize that nothing is more important than life. PLEASE put hte concern of your
career, job or family aside and come to the PKU centennial celebration (1998?).
There can't be another better chance for us to meet after these years. As long
as you are alive and healthy, you should be proud of yourself. Guan, Yue: I've
heard that you got a new baby boy. Congratulation! Ning, Xin: I was told by more
than one person, that you are a perfect father to your two little girls. Any
secret in your parent-hood can be shared with us?Name & E-mail: Chingfei Chen

I guess I'm not alone in enjoying the parenthood. What I can share are probably
common sense knowledge or practice.
1. someon has to do it;
2. while you are on it, you might as well enjoy it;
3. if you are frustrated, take a business trip, or get away for a couple of
days, you'll see what you are missing;
4. don't brag, put things under perspective;
5. somewhere down the road, when you ponder about your meaning in life, you may
have one less regret to make.
If you have seen this somewhere else, I won't be surprised.
Enjoy life !

That was a good roller! we just had an earthquake 4.7-4.8 Rich. scale. It's
centered 10 miles east of San Jose on the Calavaras Fault.
I agree with Chen Chingfei, enjoy life while you can and don't take anything
for granted. - from someone lives on the earthquake zone. :-)
